About Juri

Dr Juri Na is a Senior Research Fellow at the Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ since 2021. Her research focuses on understanding and overcoming treatment resistance in brain tumours, with particular expertise in meningioma radiobiology and the development of novel radiosensitisation strategies.

Her research integrates molecular biology, functional genomics, pharmacological screening, and clinically relevant preclinical models to identify mechanisms underlying tumour resistance and discover new therapeutic approaches. A major focus of her work is improving the effectiveness of radiotherapy through targeted modulation of DNA damage response pathways, tumour cell cycle regulation, and tumour microenvironment interactions.

Dr Na has established expertise in translational cancer research, bridging laboratory discoveries with clinically relevant applications through collaborations with clinicians, access to patient-derived tumour models, and evaluation of therapeutic strategies using advanced in vitro and 3D tumour models. Her work aims to contribute to precision oncology by identifying biomarkers of treatment response and developing personalised therapeutic approaches for patients with brain tumours.

She is also actively involved in research training and supervision, supporting the development of undergraduate, postgraduate, and early-career researchers in biomedical sciences.

Teaching Assistant, University of Oxford (2016–2021)

  • Delivered practical classes and tutorials in Molecular Biology and Oncology for Final Honour School (FHS) medical students and Erasmus students.
  • Contributed to curriculum preparation through pre-session assessment, development of teaching materials in collaboration with academic colleagues, organisation and delivery of practical sessions, and marking coursework with constructive feedback.
  • Trained and supervised junior laboratory members in experimental techniques, laboratory best practice, and health and safety to ensure technical competence and safe working practices.

Teaching Assistant, Seoul National University (2010–2016)

  • Coordinated undergraduate internship programmes held during the summer and winter vacation periods, supervising 13 undergraduate students over six and a half years.
  • Assisted in delivering practical laboratory courses, supporting students in experimental design, laboratory techniques, data analysis, and interpretation of research findings.
